Employees of Great Aim Group Donated for the Earthquake of Southeastern Asia發(fā)布時(shí)間:
As we were ushering in the New Year in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, millions of people in Southeastern Asia were suffering miseries and sadness from Tsunami. Around 8 am on December 26, 2004, a earthquake rare in a century happened in the sea area near Sumatra Island of Indonesia (Richter scale 8.9), which triggered a huge tsunami as high as 10 meters and inflicted a serious impact and casualties to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and India. Surrounding countries such as Malaysia, Maldives, Bangladesh and Myanmar were affected to different extents. A lot of coastal areas had been inundated. Many people had been swept into the sea, killed or missing. Up to date, the death toll had exceeded 150,000 and the number was still growing. Meanwhile, they were faced with a great threat from raging plaque after the disaster and were also suffering a tremendous economic loss.
After the disaster, all people of Great Aim carried forward the traditional virtues of helping those in need and mutual help spirit of "when a disaster happens, help comes from all sides". The tsunami was cruel, but people were warm-hearted. They offered their helping hand and contributed their strength and love for the re-building of the disaster-hit areas. This time, the donation showcased our kindness to the society and others. We are firmly convinced that as long as we work together, the re-building of disaster-hit areas will win the final victory.
The miseries of the disaster-hit people had deeply touched the heart of staff of Great Aim. All our staff were expressing their love with actual actions and made donations actively. The donation is still going on. All money collected from the donation will be transferred to Red Cross of China and sent to the disaster-hit countries.
